A REAL-LIFE PROJECT AGAINST LONELINESS

Journey to Find Friends – turning loneliness into real connection.

Loneliness is everywhere – even inside families, relationships and full houses.
Journey to Find Friends is a long-term, transparent experiment. I want to listen and build honest friendships all over the world.

Documentary series · real conversations · no fake “influencer” world about us and myself, I'm Matty :) nice to meet you
  • Documenting the fight against loneliness in a honest, vulnerable way.
  • Creating spaces where people can talk about what they really feel.
  • Inviting others to build their own “journey to find friends”.

Why this project exists

The core idea is simple: many people feel lonely, even if they are “not alone” in a technical sense. We often don’t dare to talk about it. We scroll, we work, we keep busy – but we rarely share how we really feel.

With Journey to Find Friends I want to break this silence. I document a real human being searching for friendship, trust and belonging – without pretending to be a perfect guru. It’s vulnerable on purpose.

Every episode is a small step: a conversation, a meeting, a reflection. Sometimes inspiring, sometimes painful – always honest.

How it works

  • Episodes: Short videos on YouTube that show real steps on this journey – successes, doubts, breakdowns, breakthroughs.
  • Safe communication: No hidden paywalls, no emotional manipulation. The goal is connection, not exploitation.
  • Community: People who feel the same can join, share their stories and support each other.
  • Transparency: We are open about struggles, money and motivation. Feeling lonely should never be a business model.

You don’t have to be “fixed” to be part of this — you only need a bit of courage to be honest.

Who is behind this journey?

Hi, I'm Matthias – or simply Matty. I'm not a coach, not a guru, not a perfect human being. I'm just someone who realised that loneliness was slowly eating away at my life, even though I had people around me.

Instead of pretending that everything is fine, I decided to do something uncomfortably honest: turn this struggle into a public journey. I talk about what hurts, what gives hope and what I learn from the people I meet along the way.

If you see yourself in any part of this, I’d love you to walk a few steps of this journey together with me – online, in the comments, or someday in person.

I'm currently publishing episodes on YouTube. They are short, real and focused on one key thought: how can we move one step closer to real friendship today?

What this project is not

  • Not a dating platform.
  • Not therapy and not a replacement for professional help.
  • Not a “get happy fast” system.

If you are in a serious emotional or mental health crisis, please reach out to professionals or local hotlines in your country. This project is one piece of support – not the only one.
